Suspect At Large After Teen Shot In Broad Daylight On Busy Area Street

A suspect is on the loose after a teenager was shot in broad daylight on a busy street in downtown Poughkeepsie.

It happened on Thursday, Dec. 19 at around 2:15 p.m. in the area of 131 Washington St. (Route 9G), City of Poughkeepsie Police said.

Upon officers’ arrival, they learned that the victim had already been transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.

The victim, a 19-year-old former City of Poughkeepsie resident, suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound, police said. The victim was not cooperative with the investigation, police said.
